Alternative Learning Center

Serving Josephine County youth, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley's "Alternative Learning Center" provides a middle school alternative education program. The Learning Center, located in the Grants Pass Club, has proved to be very successful. Working closely with the Grants Pass School District and the Three Rivers School District, the education program serves middle school students that are challenged in the public school system.

Students in the program must be referred by the School District.  The Boys & Girls Club alternative program gives students a chance to succeed in a small classroom environment. Our goal is to provide individual instruction, incentives to participate and succeed, and flexibility with personal challenges enabling students to have a successful middle school experience.

The alternative middle school program offers basic school curriculum in math, reading, social studies, language arts, science, and P.E. while also offering quality time surfing the internet in the technology center, a climbing wall to develop life and leadership skills, field trips to broaden horizons, and full access to the after school teen program.
